Stubborn preoccupation

“I will be careful to lead a blameless life— when will you come to me?” Ps101.2

If I feel far from the Lord I need to look at my life. What am I doing to keep preoccupied with the distractions of this world?

But even more is to recognize the self serving and rebellious sections of my life. Where are the stubborn activities or thoughts in my life where I won’t give myself to the Lord?

These places pop up again and again. The best practice is to remind yourself that you are baptized, claimed as a child of God and Christ has defeated every temptation and sin in your life. Ask God to take on this stubbornness in life so that you may draw closer to him.
